Example of a task about an aspect of narrative The beginning of a narrative gives the reader an idea about who the main characters are, where the events are happening and what is going to happen next. The writer introduces the characters, the setting and events in an interesting way so that the reader will want to continue reading. Look at the picture below. HINTS ● Use the planning time to organise your ideas. ● Stay on the topic. Remember that you do not have to finish the story. ● Make sure your sentences are correct and varied. ● Pay attention to spelling and punctuation. ● Use the time at the end of the task to check and improve your writing. Write only the beginning of the story.
